This program is for those who are trained / in training but not yet certified as a doula as well as newly certified doulas with no hands-on experience. Most certification programs require a number of births attended as the primary doula + written evaluations to complete certification.

• You will have the opportunity to meet with Katie (possibly in a group setting) 4x to further your education/understanding of birth/pelvic mechanics, learn how to facilitate prenatal meetings, learn/practice hands on techniques and comfort measures for birth. 

• You will be invited to shadow 1 birth with Katie.

• With our marketing and reputation, we will advertise your services as a Student Doula under mentorship. You will have the opportunity to attend 2-3 births (based on what is needed for certification) as the primary doula with Katie as a secondary virtual doula to guide you, answer questions and make suggestions, as needed.

• Access to Katie via calls/texts to support you, answer questions, etc.

You will be responsible for setting up and attending all prenatal and postpartum meetings with your (2-3) clients. You will be responsible for your own transportation and cost associated for all meetings (including shadowing birth) and births.

Upon successful completion of the mentorship program AND certification, there may be opportunities to join our team at Suburban Family Doulas as a contracted doula for those who do not wish to start their own business. Please inquire within for more information!

This is a monetarily free mentorship program. You will owe no fees paid to Suburban Family Doulas. Instead, Suburban Family Doulas will charge a low-cost fee to the families hiring a student doula, which will cover the cost for the time and commitment put forth by Suburban Family Doula's mentorship.
